ESPN’s cameras often catch breathtaking plays and capture cool angles during college football broadcasts.
In the case of LSU linebacker Whit Weeks, though, the cameras were there on Saturday to capture a moment that he probably wouldn’t have wanted to be captured. It came during the first quarter of Saturday’s SEC showdown at Ole Miss, as the Tigers were trying to protect a 7-0 lead in Oxford.
The Rebels had the ball with a little over 6 minutes left in the quarter and were trying to tie the game. No big deal, right?
Wrong.
As the LSU defense was getting set to line up for the next play, Weeks took center stage and for all the, well, wrong reasons. Before the play could be run, Weeks had a little business to take care of. Something was wrong with him, whether he was overheated in the moment or whatever, but Weeks lost his lunch and let it all out on the field in Oxford.
Should LSU prevail on Saturday in the battle of 4-0 teams, that forgettable moment way back in the first quarter will be long forgotten. The Tigers trailed 17-13 at the end of the third quarter, and it was up to Weeks and the LSU defense to lock things down so the offense could rally.
