The big news out of Columbia this weekend is that South Carolina QB Luke Doty injured his foot in Friday’s practice. While fan bases everywhere dread fall camp injuries, Shane Beamer doesn’t want to see Gamecock fans getting down if Doty has to miss time.
“I saw a lot of doom and gloom. I saw and heard a lot about how our season hinged on the results of an MRI and frankly, that’s bull crap,” Beamer told reporters Saturday.

Beamer shared that Doty’s injury is just a sprain, noting that’s as serious as they thought, describing the quarterback’s current status as “questionable.”

“We will reevaluate him here in a couple weeks,” Beamer said in his media session. “Luke is in great spirits and optimistic he will be able to play in the first game. If not, soon after that.”
