Luther Burden is making his presence known against Boston College in Week 3.

The star wide receiver got open late in the 2nd quarter and made several receivers miss en route to the end zone. The 19-yard score made it a 2-point game before Nate Noel ran in the 2-point conversion to tie it up. This was Burden’s 2nd score of the season.

At halftime, Burden leads all receivers in the game with 4 catches for 68 yards and 1 TD.

Burden has gotten off to a slow start in 2024 by his standards. The star WR caught 4 passes for 49 yards and 1 TD in the opener against Murray State and caught just 3 passes for 15 yards in Week 2 against Buffalo.

The Tigers did just fine through 2 weeks without their star WR contributing much, but that likely won’t be the case as the schedule gets tougher.

In 2023, Burden was arguably the best receiver in football. Burden caught 86 passes for 1,212 yards and 9 TDs. Burden had 5 consecutive games of 100+ yards and earned First-team All-SEC honors after the season.

Burden and the Tigers are hoping to stay perfect in Week 3. After falling behind 14-3, the Tigers enter halftime with a 17-14 lead. It’s safe to assume Burden will play a large role in the 2nd half of this game as the Tigers seek to pull away.

With a win over the Eagles, the Tigers will improve to 3-0 as they open SEC play against Vanderbilt in Week 4.
