Answering his critics: Mac Jones says he went into his second Pro Day with specific goal in mind
Can Mac Jones play outside of the pocket, or is he a statue?
That’s something the Alabama quarterback had apparently been hearing leading up to his second Pro Day in Tuscaloosa and made a point to showcase his underrated athletism during the event.
After rolling out and throwing a deep out, Jones called out those that still have their doubts when it comes to his game.
“But I’m a statue,” Jones apparently said after the play according to the NFL Network’s James Palmer.
According to the Alabama quarterback, he wanted to showcase his ability to make plays outside the pocket during his final Pro Day.
“I just wanted to show that I do that all the time in practice,” Jones says in the clip below. “In the game, I just play in the framework of the offense, so I’m not going to roll out until I have to. I just wanted to show I’m not a statue and that I can make plays and I’ll hopefully do that at the next level.”

Great interview with MacJones_10 on @nflnetwork after his second Pro Day. Why did he decided to catch a touchdown pass to finish it off? And what did Bill Belichick say to him about it after? Also, what are his thoughts on Kyle Shanahan and possibly playing with the 49ers? pic.twitter.com/M218h8mx47
