Mac Jones will be paying the NFL a bit more than previously expected.

It was widely reported earlier this week that the league was fining the Patriots quarterback for his low block on Eli Apple. Saturday, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero reported that Jones was also fined for an unspecified “separate unnecessary roughness violation.” In total, Jones owes the league $23,976 for his actions in Week 16.

Jones defended himself against accusations of “dirty” play over the block on Apple, which occurred after a Patriots turnover. The former Alabama quarterback said he was trying to prevent Apple from getting to Patriots WR Tyquan Thornton, who was in pursuit of making a tackle.

Jones and the Patriots face the Miami Dolphins in Week 17. Both teams are fighting for a playoff spot.
