Mac Jones has been sidelined since Sept. 25, but the former Alabama quarterback looks to be returning to action for the New England Patriots soon. ESPN’s Mike Reiss reports that Jones is expected to be available for the Patriots’ Monday night against the Chicago Bears.

Jones has been unavailable for the last three weeks after the ankle injury. New England has posted a 2-1 record in Jones’ absence.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick has kept quiet on Jones’ status and his adjustments to missing his starting quarterback. The first day of practice will take place on Thursday and is the last barrier for Jones to find his way back on the field.

The Patriots are 1-2 with Jones starting and 3-3 overall heading into the Week 7 contest against Chicago. Jones has 97 attempts on the year with 64 completions for 786 yards with 2 touchdowns.
