A DeSmet standout from Saint Louis, Markway is listed at 6-4, 250 pounds and rated 4-stars, the No. 3 Missouri product, No. 7 tight end and No. 100 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite. He has 27 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Missouri, South Carolina and Texas A&M.
Markway previously committed to Florida on July 27, 2021. He decommitted from UF in December after Tim Brewster announced he was not being retained as tight ends coach on Billy Napier’s staff.
This year, Markway visited LSU, Iowa and Miami. Markway is an Iowa legacy. His father, Matt Markway, played tight end for the Hawkeyes. Mac’s cousin, Kyle Markway, played tight end at South Carolina.
