Malik Dia, a former Vanderbilt forward, announced Monday that he would be transferring from Vanderbilt to Belmont, staying within the confines of the Music City and Volunteer State.
Dia, a freshman who played just 1 season with the Commodores before entering the portal, had a few flashes of brilliance this past season. He scored 14 points against Kentucky and 9 points against Morehead State and 7 against Southern Miss, but failed to score above 5 points in any game the remainder of the season.

Dia was a 3-star commit in the Class of 2022, rated as the No. 5 player from the state of Tennessee.
At 6-9, 240 pounds, Dia has the makings of a strong player in college, and he’s already proven he can be a good rebounder. At Belmont, Die could shine.
