Malik Jackson had a good run in Jacksonville but that time is over as the organization is moving on from the defensive lineman.
The team announced Friday that Jackson has been released, along with safety Tashuan Gipson, lineman Jermey Parnell and running back Carlos Hyde.
The team will save roughly $11 million from releasing Jackson. The former Tennessee defensive lineman arrived in Jacksonville three years ago after helping the Denver Broncos win a Super Bowl. Jackson agreed to a six-year, $85 million deal with $42 million in guaranteed money.
During his three seasons in Jacksonville, Jackson racked up 105 tackles and 18 sacks for the Jaguars. In his NFL career, Jackson has a combined 252 tackles and 32.5 sacks.
