It appears as though Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen is in the market for a defensive coordinator… again.

Bulldogs defensive coordinator Manny Diaz has decided to join Mark Richt’s staff at Miami in the same role.

This is the second time that Diaz has decided to leave Mississippi State after just one season as the defensive coordinator.

He held the job for the 2010 season before deciding to leave for Texas in 2011.

Diaz was reunited with Mullen in 2015 after the Bulldogs lost coordinator Geoff Collins to Florida following the 2014 season in what Mullen famously termed as a “lateral move.”
