Isn’t technology wonderful?
Thanks to sports apparel website Fanatics.com’s sales tracking, we’re able to identify who has been purchasing the most Alabama or Clemson gear in each of the 50 states since the completion of the College Football Playoff semifinals.

Granted, there are surely legitimate Alabama and Clemson fans in many of these states that felt the need to freshen up their gear in advance of the national title game.
What we can safely determine is that Alabama is the overwhelming national brand between the two schools.
And that’s not surprising given the storied history of the Crimson Tide program.
But we can also assume that the Crimson Tide is a more palatable choice for front-runners that want to pick a team to root for in the national title game.
What is surprising is the support that Clemson seems to have built relative to the Crimson Tide through some of the western states, claiming New Mexico, Nevada, Wyoming, Idaho and North Dakota in spite of being an Atlantic Coast presence.
