Marcus Johnson still hasn’t touched his signing bonus from his playing days of the NFL.
The tenured Tigers offensive line coach discussed why that is Wednesday night on the Tiger Talk Radio show.
Mizzou OL coach Marcus Johnson – a 2nd round NFL draft pick by the Vikings in 2005 – said on Tiger Talk tonight he’s never touched his signing bonus. “I’m a country boy from Mississippi. We’re pretty humble people.”

Johnson joined the Mizzou staff in 2020 and was promoted to assistant coach and run game coordinator the year following. He and Tyler Badie orchestrated a rushing attack that averaged just under 180 yards per game in 2021.
He played in the NFL from 2005-2009 for the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Bucs. He was the No. 49 overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.
