Former South Carolina RB Marcus Lattimore is now the head coach of Heathwood Hall High School in Columbia and is preparing for his first season at the helm of the program.

As a first-year head coach, Lattimore is having a lot of fun learning the ins and outs of his new job.

But, according to The State, one particular aspect of being a head coach has stood out to Lattimore so far, as he said that he enjoys the ability to be involved in every aspect of the game:

“Best part about being the head coach is you’ve got your hands in every single aspect of your program. It is not just a team, it is a program,” Lattimore said. “I wouldn’t want it any other way. I don’t know where this journey will take me, but I will always be hands on. I don’t want to be the CEO type. I have to be hands on.”

Don’t worry, though. The story goes on to say that Lattimore isn’t a dictator with the program and his coordinators love working with him.

He’ll call the offensive plays for Heathwood Hall this fall, so it’ll be interesting to see how the Highlanders fare under the ex-Gamecock’s leadership.
