Mario Anderson Jr., D-II All-American, announces SEC commitment

South Carolina gained 3 commitments in just 1 day on Sunday, 2 of which were from the transfer portal. Running back Mario Anderson was among those from the portal after spending the previous 3 seasons of his college football career at Division 2 program Newberry College.
Over his time there, he totaled 3,301 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns. He took the lead back assignments beginning in 2021 and has not changed the narrative since then, putting up record-setting numbers as he did just that.
In the same day, the Gamecocks gained Florida tight end Nick Elksnis, a pass-catcher who did not see much time with the Gators on the field, and high school wide receiver commitment Tyshawn Russell to round things out. It will be interesting to watch how all of these new additions shake out for Beamer’s team moving forward.
