Mario Craver to return to Texas A&M in 2026 as ‘highest paid WR’ in school history
Mario Craver will return to Texas A&M for the 2026 college football season, his agent told several outlets on Thursday.
After transferring to A&M last offseason, Craver broke out in a major way this year for the Aggies, who lost just once in the regular season and punched a ticket to the College Football Playoff for the first time ever. For his efforts, Craver has reportedly inked an extension with the team.
A graphic, which was seemingly produced by the agency representing Craver and distributed to multiple reporters, touts Craver’s deal as one that will make him “the highest paid WR in Texas A&M history.”
The 5-foot-9 sophomore from Birmingham played his freshman season at Mississippi State, where he caught 17 passes for 368 yards, showcasing an explosive ability with the ball in his hands.
For A&M this season, he brought in 52 receptions for 825 yards and 4 scores. He also added a rushing touchdown.
Entering the postseason, Craver ranks second on the team in receptions and yards, trailing only KC Concepcion. Concepcion told reporters on Monday he has not made a decision yet regarding a return for next season. Concepcion is draft-eligible and considered to be one of the top receivers in the class.
Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
