Former NFL quarterback and current FOX analyst Mark Sanchez is now facing a felony battery charge stemming from an altercation he was in over the weekend in Indianapolis.

Marion County prosecutor Ryan Mears announced the charge on Monday.

“We have added more serious charges against Mr. Sanchez,” Mears said in his press conference on Monday. “At this point in time, we have filed a felony charge, a level 5 felony, of battery involving serious bodily injury. Which contains a penalty of 1-6 years.

“One of the things I want to stress to everybody is we are still in the early stages of this investigation.”

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in Indy, where Sanchez was slated to call an NFL game on Sunday for FOX between the Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders.

Sanchez reportedly confronted a 69-year-old man over where he was parked on Saturday and allegedly assaulted the man, which led to the former USC standout being stabbed.

Sanchez was arrested later in the day and charged with several misdemeanors while being treated for his wounds at the hospital, and now the prosecutor for Marion County, Indiana will be seeking felony charges as well.
