Kentucky’s hopes of ending the season in Atlanta are still alive as the Wildcats somehow found a way to win a game they were losing nearly the entire contest. In the end, the Wildcats drove the length of the field and scored a touchdown as time expired to win at Missouri, 15-14.

Following the game, Mark Stoops had this to say about his quarterback Terry Wilson. The Kentucky QB finished the game completing 22 of 31 passes for 267 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Prior to the game-winning drive, Wilson threw an interception that could have killed Kentucky’s hopes in the game.

“Very proud of him, our team. You saw how hard it was, I have so much respect for Missouri and how hard they played,” Stoops said. “We just hung in there.”

On the final play and the decision to throw instead of giving it to Benny Snell. Kentucky’s star running back struggled for much of the game, rushing for only 67 yards on 19 carries.

“We felt they were going to take him out of that – the equation – and bring the house and zero blitz it,” Stoops said. “Terry had to make a throw. We put C.J. in there to get a bigger body and he ran a good route and Terry hit him.”

On the play of his team.

“This is what we do, we find a way to win and you gotta love that,” he continued. “We have a lot of flaws that we need to work on but we have energy and heart. I love the way we play.”

The win improves Kentucky’s record to 7-1 on the season and 5-1 in the SEC. The Wildcats will now host Georgia in Lexington next week in a de facto SEC East title game. If you missed the final play, you can view it below:
