Kentucky gave up a late touchdown to Vanderbilt on Saturday en route to a stunning 24-21 upset loss to the Commodores.

The Wildcats (6-4) now have the unenviable task of facing top-ranked Georgia this Saturday.

During the weekly SEC coaches teleconference Wednesday, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops said he’s been impressed with how good the Bulldogs have been defensively in 2022 after losing so much talent to the NFL.

“After having so many guys as such high picks and being so dominant a year ago, it’s really a credit to Kirby (Smart) and his staff to the way they’ve recruited and developed their team,” said Stoops of the Georgia defense. “… They’re able to play so many guys and get valuable game experience. … These guys got quality reps and they’re developing in recruiting. They’re plugged in and ready to go. There’s absolutely no drop off.”

The Wildcats and Bulldogs will face off on CBS at 3:30 p.m. (ET) on Saturday. The Bulldogs are currently 22.5-point favorites.
