Mark Stoops thought that NFL General Managers and coaches made a mistake in passing on Will Levis at Monday’s radio show.

Levis balled out against the Atlanta Falcons and led the Tennessee Titans to a 28-23 debut win in Nashville. Levis had 238 yards passing and 4 touchdowns. Levis also had 11 yards rushing.

Stoops and offensive coordinator Liam Coen loved watching Levis light up the defense.

“Liam and I got a big kick out of it, so it was fun,” said Stoops. “It doesn’t surprise me either. I think you’re going to see him make a lot of general managers and head coaches feel a little silly… a little regret.”

Stoops was thrilled for Levis after a solid debut with Tennessee.

“I was just so happy for Will Levis. We were in our offensive meeting and had the projector in front of us and behind us was a television,” said Stoops. “When Tennessee was on offense, we’d take a little pause in the film and turned around to watch Will. We were just so thrilled for him and watching him play so good.”

Levis fell to the second round in the 2023 NFL Draft and the Titans drafted him with the first pick of the second round.

Levis will now have the tough task of facing the Pittsburgh Steelers defense on Thursday Night Football.

Kickoff will be at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
