Mark Stoops on Kentucky’s mindset despite lopsided Week 1 win: ‘Not satisfied with every aspect’

Mark Stoops and Kentucky rolled to a 44-14 victory vs. Ball State in its season opener. However, the Wildcats are not resting on their laurels.
The Kentucky head coach raves about his team’s response after the 30-point win last Saturday. The Wildcats have been extremely attentive during practice leading up to the Week 2 contest vs. visiting Eastern Kentucky.
“I was very impressed, Monday’s are always hectic because there’s so much to do. We’re mandatory day off one day a week and ours is Sunday. And so Monday’s there’s a lot to cram in,” Stoops said. “We look at the mistakes and watch the film and then introduce a new opponent. Then Tuesday’s a heavy work day, full pads, very physical, got to get a lot of things in and I felt like it was an improvement, I really do. They could see it.”

It was a smooth victory as Kentucky held Ball State to 295 total yards, yet Stoops’ squad still wants to shore up some areas.
“I felt like our team was not satisfied with every aspect, but as I told them, and after watching the film, if we play with that same type of intensity and continuing to try to be physical and preparing the right way, good things will happen,” Stoops said. “We just got to detail things up here this week.”
