Mark Stoops praises USC WR Xavier Legette: ‘He’s played a lot of football in this league’

Mark Stoops knows South Carolina has a set of offensive weapons to prepare for this week.
One of those offensive weapons is wide receiver Xavier Legette, who surpassed the 1,000 receiving yard mark on the season last week against Vanderbilt. Legette has notched 100+ receiving yards in 6 games this season, picking up 5 touchdowns on his way.
On Wednesday ahead of the matchup, Stoops had high praise for Legette and his experience in the SEC.
“He’s a guy with experience, he’s got great size and so he’s made a lot of plays,” Stoops said during the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday. “He’s played a lot of football in this league and against a lot of teams and so he’s definitely a big-play wide receiver, and a lot of respect for him. He’s a very good player, very strong and he’s also very competitive, he’ll come down with a lot of 50/50 balls.”
Kentucky is looking to bounce back from a crushing loss against Alabama last week as it takes on South Carolina. The Gamecocks are coming into the game looking for a pair of big wins to reach bowl eligibility, but the Wildcats are hoping to notch another SEC win before closing out the year with a tough game against Louisville.
