Mark Stoops comments on Kentucky’s dominant showing in first win at Tennessee since 1984

For the first time since 1984, Kentucky has won in Neyland Stadium.
The game wasn’t even in doubt for the majority of the second half, as the Wildcats beat the Vols 34-7 in the game to improve to 2-2 on the season.
Two pick sixes set the tone for the Wildcats in the first half while Wildcat’s dominant defense controlled the second half of the game.

on Terry Wilson’s performance in the game:
“It doesn’t surprise me that he bounced back and had a good game. We have a lot of confidence in him, we’ve said it all week. He’s our starting quarterback, we expect him to go out and play well. But obviously, if he doesn’t play to the standard we expect, we have other guys ready to go. Just like every other position. But he’s going to get better just like all of us are. We have to get better around him, as well.”
on Kentucky’s strong showing on the road in this game:
“It makes me feel good. I thought we were balanced early offensively, then we had a turnover then we had two picks sixes, which gets you out of rhythm a little bit. I like the way we started the third quarter. We got a stop, I think it was a three and out, we made them punt, and our offense took it right down… It kinda set the tone for the entire second half.”
on Kentucky forcing so many turnovers:
“Our guys are playing with good vision. We are playing better team defense, everybody is in position, guys are playing hard. When you are in good position, guys play hard. Good things will happen.”
