Jones’ father played for Florida State and won the Butkus Award back in 1992.
Jones was quickly linked to Florida State after he decided to enter the transfer portal earlier this month. He spent two seasons at Georgia before deciding to enter the portal.
This is a huge addition for FSU’s defensive front in 2024. Jones was a 5-star prospect in the class of 2022. He was the No. 24 overall player and the No. 3 edge in that class, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He was also considered to be the No. 4 prospect from the state of Florida.
Jones is coming off of his best collegiate season in 2023. He recorded 12 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss for the Bulldogs in 2023. He could take another big step forward with an increased role in Tallahassee next season.
Georgia will face Florida State in the Orange Bowl to finish off the 2023 season.
