Florida added its fifth commitment of the 2021 class when it went into Maryland to land a 4-star cornerback.

Clinton Burton, Jr. is listed at 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, and is ranked the No. 12 player at his position in that class, and the No. 8 overall player in Maryland, according to 247 Sports Composite. Burton reportedly has 15 offers, and chose the Gators over the likes of Alabama and Clemson. He’s the first cornerback to commit to Florida for this class.

The Gators currently have the top-ranked class in the SEC in 2021, and are ranked fifth in the nation, according to 247 Sports.

In his announcement, Burton thanked God and his family, including everyone who took care of him since his mother passed.
