Mason Rudolph won’t seek legal action against Myles Garrett after Browns-Steelers fight

According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph will not seek legal action against Cleveland Browns defensive end and former Texas A&M star Myles Garrett after Garrett struck Rudolph with his own helmet in an ugly fight on Thursday at the tail end of the Browns’ win over the Steelers.
A move by Rudolph to seek legal action against Garrett was a possibility, his agent, Tim Younger, told ESPN via text message on Friday morning. Meanwhile, Cleveland police stated that the incident would not be investigated by their department.
Garrett was suspended by the NFL indefinitely on Friday. At a minimum, he will be unable to play through the remainder of the regular season, and should the Browns qualify for the NFL playoffs, he will be forced to sit those potential games out as well. In addition, both the Steelers and Browns organizations were fined $250,000 each.
Garrett later apologized for his actions, saying it was a “terrible mistake” and that his actions were “selfish and unacceptable”.
The next matchup between the division rivals is not far off. The Browns will host the Steelers in an AFC North game on Dec. 1 at 4:25 p.m. ET.
