A little over halfway through the season, it seems like the SEC is still anyone’s game.
Georgia is looking like a the favorite, but even the Bulldogs have slipped up a few times.
On Sunday, Matt Barrie and Paul Finebaum broke down the competition in the conference.
“I can’t think of one team that is just going to choke you to death,” Barrie said on his show. “Let me put it this way, I don’t think there is one team in the SEC that isn’t capable of losing on a Saturday.”
Finebaum agrees with Barrie, and he believes Alabama is one team that will need to worry about the state of the SEC.
“Not to obsess over Alabama, but on consecutive weeks, they won by 6, they won by 3,” Finebaum said. “Nick Saban seemed pretty happy because he knows that this team is capable of giving it away. He has now reached that part of the season, everybody’s talking about the 5-game winning streak, Ole Miss might be the only impressive win of the 5. But you’ve got Tennessee at home and you’ve got LSU at home. These are the 2 games that wrecked his season last year.”
The end of the season should be a treat for SEC fans, and next week brings a lot of important games, including a matchup between Alabama and Tennessee.
