Matt Bockhorst makes heartfelt statement following news of career-ending injury

Published:
Matt Bockhorst tore a ligament in his knee last week, and is out for the season, and the redshirt senior acknowledges that his career is likely over.
But the Clemson offensive lineman also took a moment this week to thank the media in what will likely be his last time at the podium at Clemson.
“I just want to take this opportunity to say thank you,” he said while fighting through tears. “It’s very unfortunate that players and coaches kind of get pitted against the media. I’m sure there have been times that I’ve said things that you all probably might disagree with, or don’t endorse, but my experience with each member of the media during my time here has been absolutely incredible. I have a very high amount of respect for each one of you and the way you do your job. … I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you guys for everything you do for us and the support you have for this program.”
They don’t make dudes better than @MattBockhorst.
As Dabo Swinney said, “That kid has given every ounce of everything he’s had in his career.”
