Following a remarkable performance against Vanderbilt on Saturday, Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral was named the Walter Camp National FBS Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Sunday.
Corral was 31-of-34 for 412 yards against the Commodores, throwing 6 touchdowns. Only one other Ole Miss player has won the Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week honor: running back Dexter McCluster.
Corral also broke or matched several records during the game. His 19 straight completions to begin the game set a new program record once held by Eli Manning. With a 91.2 percent completion rate, he tied the all-time SEC mark set by former Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs.
The redshirt sophomore now has 18 touchdown passes for the season and has thrown for 1,846 yards.
The Rebels are in a bye week until Nov. 14, when they take on visiting South Carolina in Oxford.
