Georgia tight end Brock Bowers, after a slow start to the 2022 season, turned heads on Saturday during the Bulldogs’ blowout win over South Carolina. It’s the performance Dawgs fans have started to grow used to from last season’s SEC Freshman of the Year and the preseason 1st-team All-American.
One person that took notice was FOX Sports college football analyst Matt Leinart. The former Heisman Trophy winner and USC standout on Monday named his top 5 performers from Week 3’s college football action, placing Bowers at No. 3.
Bowers made 5 catches for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns, the 1st coming on a pretty grab in the end zone over a South Carolina defender and the second on a throw toward the middle of the field where he used his elusiveness and speed to get to the end zone. He also added a 5-yard touchdown on an end-around just 6-and-a-half minutes into the game.
What’s next for Bowers? We’ll find out on Sept. 24 as the Bulldogs host Kent State.
