The biggest game of a jam-packed week 1 slate of college football is the top 3 matchup between the No. 1-ranked Texas Longhorns and the No. 3-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes, and the marquee matchup has brought out several stars.

Among this list of A-listers are a couple of Texas legends: former Longhorns head coach Mack Brown and Hollywood star and Longhorns Minister of Culture Matthew McConaughey.

The Texas icons are both in attendance to support their beloved Longhorns and actually met up before the game, sharing a heartfelt moment in the middle of The Shoe.

It’s no secret that these two Lone Star State icons both bleed burnt orange and white, and they have also become very familiar with each other over the years; they clearly have a great deal of mutual respect for one another.

Brown was the longtime head coach for the Longhorns from 1998 to 2013, leading them to their last national title in 2005 with the iconic Rose Bowl victory over the USC Trojans.

Brown was most recently the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels from 2019 to 2024, a team he also led from 1988 to 1997. Now that he’s officially retired, he can once again don the burnt orange in support of the Horns.

With these two legends on the sideline cheering them on, the Horns will undoubtedly have some extra motivation to get the job done on the road.
