Winning the Super Bowl brings with it some nice perks. One of those perks, at least for Matthew Stafford, is a huge new contract.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Stafford is signing a long-term deal with the Los Angeles Rams. The extension is reported to be for 4 years and $160 million with $135 million of that guaranteed.
In total, the Rams have now committed 5 years and $183 million to Stafford and it is expected that Stafford will finish his career in Los Angeles. Schefter also reported that Stafford is likely to help the Rams land other players via free agency.

After spending the first 12 years of his career with the Detroit Lions, Stafford was acquired by the Rams via a trade prior to the 2021 season. The move paid off with Stafford throwing for more than 4,800 yards and 41 touchdowns while leading LA to the Super Bowl. Stafford also engineered a Super Bowl-winning drive in the final minutes of the game with a go-ahead touchdown to Cooper Kupp.
