Max Johnson came on in relief of Texas A&M starting QB Conner Weigman vs. Auburn on Saturday afternoon after the Aggies’ QB1 suffered a leg injury.

Johnson then connected with his brother, Texas A&M TE Jake Johnson for a touchdown to extend the Aggies’ lead in the second half of the SEC West matchup.

What was his message to his brother after the TD pass? It was simple, Max said. He just told Jake, “I love you, man.”

Philadelphia is known as the City of Brotherly Love, but maybe College Station fit that bill a bit better on Saturday.

How long will Max be at the helm of the Aggie offense? Weigman appeared to be in a lot of pain coming off the field, so we’ll see what his status is for Week 5 over the coming days.

At the very least, the Aggies should feel confident that their backup QB proved so capable against a tough Auburn defense.
