Max Johnson’s younger brother, Jake, an LSU commit, impresses in senior season HS debut

Jake Johnson will eventually be joining his older brother, Max, at LSU. However, it’s not time for that quite yet. The future Tigers tight end still has his final season to play at Oconee County High School in Watkinsville, Ga.
Johnson and his Oconee County teammates got that season underway this past Friday night with a matchup against North Oconee. And Johnson began his year in strong fashion.
Johnson had four receptions for 70 yards, which included an impressive over-the-shoulder 40-yard touchdown grab, in Oconee County’s 35-28 win:
Johnson is a 4-star recruit in the 2022 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings, who is the No. 81 player overall and the No. 2 tight end. He’s been committed to LSU since April 15, as he picked the Tigers over Clemson, Alabama, Florida and more.
It was important for LSU to land one of the best tight ends in the 2022 recruiting cycle after Arik Gilbert decided to transfer to Georgia. Now, the Tigers will be getting a top playmaker at the position who can take over the job potentially as soon as next year.
Johnson’s older brother, Max, is a sophomore quarterback at LSU. Their father, Brad, is a former NFL quarterback, and their uncle is former Georgia and Miami head coach Mark Richt.
