Max Wright, Texas A&M TE, talks Bobby Petrino offense, idea of playing an opponent during spring

Max Wright has been through enough practices to get a sense for how the Texas A&M offense will look under new offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino.
“The offense that Petrino brings, I love it,” he said. “I think it’s a dynamic offense with how they use a tight end.”
Wright said he loves the other tight ends, Jake Johnson and Donovan Green, and that both could be key pieces to the offense this year.
“These guys aren’t freshmen anymore,” Wright said.
Wright appeared in just 8 games last season, and made 9 catches for 129 yards and a touchdown. Against Auburn, he left the game on a stretcher and went to the hospital, but later returned to the stadium.
He’s ready to bounce back after last season’s disappointing year: “We’re not letting things slide last year like we might’ve done last year.”
Wright addressed a recent topic that has made its way around the SEC: Playing an opponent during spring practice.
“I think the guys would definitely be up for that,” he said. “… I think that would be super helpful to face an opponent that isn’t apart of our locker room.”
The Aggies will treat Saturday’s spring game like any other even though only half the field will be available because of construction at Kyle Field.
