Maxwell Hairston made a big play early, and Kentucky has it rolling at Vanderbilt.
Hairston stepped in front of an AJ Swann pass that was floated toward the sideline and returned it 29 yards for a touchdown. That gave UK a 14-0 lead with 8:14 left in the first quarter. The play came on 2nd down and 21 from the Vanderbilt 29.
Hairston was aided by pressure on Swann by Trevin Wallace and JJ Weaver.
This is a big early play for Hairson, who last season played in 12 games and totaled two tackles, both in the win over Youngstown State.

UK got on the scoreboard Saturday with a JuTahn McClain touchdown run from 36 yards out, as Vanderbilt also saw safety Jaylen Mahoney ejected for targeting early in the game on a helmet-to-helmet hit with Dane Key. It came on the second play of the game from scrimmage, and it was a big loss for the Commodore defense. He’s a 5th year senior and team captain defensive back.
It won’t be much longer before the Bluegrass State is up and running with a mouthwatering DraftKings Kentucky Promo Code. In the meantime, Kentucky sports bettors looking to edge the competition can pre-register with DraftKings Kentucky Sportsbook en route to a tremendous $200 Pre-Launch Bonus.
