Florida coach Jim McElwain spoke to the media on Thursday and revealed that he got a visit from the Head Ball Coach, who came and had some thoughts to share.
McElwain also said the Gators will hold their first full-scale scrimmage of the spring on Thursday. He also gave some personnel updates.
Here’s what McElwain had to say about Steve Spurrier’s visit.
Spurrier let McElwain know he was coming to see practice. "Always great to sit down and talk to him," McElwain. #Gators

McElwain on Spurrier's actual thoughts on #Gators QBs: "They threw the ball well, he said. Gave good critique about throwing corner balls."

The Gators’ scrimmage will see all four quarterbacks in redshirt sophomore Luke Del Rio, graduate transfer Austin Appleby and freshmen Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask get some work with the first-stringers.
#Gators will scrimmage in the Swamp today for first time this spring, first time for some younger players.

McElwain said all four QBs will be scrimmaging with the ones. #Gators

There are a few notable players who won’t be able to go, including sophomore RB Jordan Scarlett and center Cam Dillard as well as a couple wideouts.
Tailback Jordan Scarlett has an injured leg and probably won't scrimmage today.

Center Cam Dillard won't go either because he suffered a broken nose. #Gators

Ahmad Fulwood and Dre Massey are out because they “pulled a leg” in Wednesday’s practice. That means more reps for freshmen Freddie Swain and Josh Hammond. However, C.J. Worton is good to go after a scare on Wednesday.

McElwain says C.J. Worton, who was shaken up Wednesday, is OK. "Guy fell down at practice. Imagine that."
