A former Kentucky star is in the middle of an NBA controversy that also involves ESPN broadcaster Maria Taylor.
Taylor was one of the media members who submitted ballots for NBA awards this year.
Her ballot was highlighted by a Los Angeles Lakers writer for leaving former UK big man Anthony Davis off of the All-NBA team.
The issue came up after Harrison Faigen looked at the ballot as a Lakers writer and noted who voted for LeBron James and Anthony Davis and how the votes unfolded. He tweeted, which has since been deleted, “Maria Taylor of ESPN was the sole voter who did not put Anthony Davis on their first, second or third All-NBA team.”
Taylor responded, and with help from Utah Jazz G Donovan Mitchell, defended herself against Fox Sports radio host Doug Gottlieb, who questioned her expertise to vote. She also admitted it was a mistake.
It’s been a long week for Taylor, who covered her first “Monday Night Football” game and was met with criticism of her outfit by Chicago radio host Dan McNeil on Twitter. He was let go by the station’s parent company.

Wow it’s been a long week. But if everyone would now like to take away my voter privileges because of a CLEAR mistake. Please feel free.
