Mekhi Wingo was a breakout player along Mizzou’s defensive line as a freshman in 2021.

Then, recently, he made a surprising decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Now, he has a new school, and he’s not leaving the SEC.

As you can see below, he revealed on Twitter on Tuesday morning that he was committing to LSU for the 2022 campaign:

Wingo, a 3-star member of the 2021 recruiting class out of St. Louis, had 27 total tackles (2 for a loss), 1 sack and 1 interception, which he returned 40 yards for a touchdown, this past season.

How he fares in Baton Rouge remains to be seen, but this was a nice addition for first-year head coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers.
