Mel Kiper is constantly ranking prospects for the next NFL Draft. His latest big board for the 2023 NFL Draft has some interesting rankings when it comes to quarterbacks.

Kiper has Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young as No. 5 overall and QB3 on the big board, behind Ohio State’s C.J. Stround and Kentucky’s Will Levis.

On ESPN’s “Get Up,” Kiper discussed why he doesn’t have Young rated higher.

“It’s the size. At 5-11 and a half, about 185-190 (pounds), that’s something we haven’t had at the top of the first round ever, really,” Kiper told host Mike Greenberg. “I think you look at Bryce Young, he’s the ultimate point guard. He processes better than any of the quarterbacks I’ve seen in recent memory.

“There’s a lot to love about Bryce Young, you just wish he was a little bigger. He doesn’t have the frame of a Russell Wilson or a Kyler Murray, so he’s not going to be able to put on a lot of weight. So can he hold up at 5-11 and a half, 185-190 in the NFL, that’s going to be the question.”

It’s a long way until draft time. We’ll see next spring if teams view Young as QB3, like Kiper, or have the Alabama standout higher on the board.
