Alabama defensive backs coach Mel Tucker is surely 100 percent focused on winning a national championship on Monday.

But like his boss Kirby Smart, his future appears to be away from the Crimson Tide coaching staff in 2016.

There were reports that surfaced this week that pegged Tucker as the choice to be Smart’s defensive coordinator at Georgia.

According to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Chip Towers, Tucker may instead be eyeing a chance to become a head coach himself.

Tucker reportedly interviewed for the job opening at UTSA, which is a vacancy created by the departure of former Miami coach Larry Coker.

Prior to coming to Alabama, Tucker was the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears.
