The Miami Dolphins are bringing back an old friend. The team will reunite with former South Carolina Gamecock Melvin Ingram III.

Ingram spent the entire 2022 season with the Dolphins and collected 22 tackles and 6 sacks. The veteran pass rusher had remained on the market for the first 13 games of the 2023 season, but will now run it back with the Dolphins.

The Dolphins have actually been solid at rushing the passer this year. The team is currently tied for 3rd in sacks per game. However, the team was unable to get much of a pass rush against the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football. The Dolphins only collected 1 sack in the Week 14 loss.

Ingram has long been a reliable pass rusher in the league. Ingram was originally a 1st round pick out of South Carolina back in 2012 by the San Diego Chargers. The pass rusher made 3 consecutive Pro Bowls from 2017-2019 and has collected 57 sacks in his 11-year career.

Ingram was a Consensus All-America for the Gamecocks in 2011 and also earned First-team All-SEC honors that season. The edge rusher collected 21.5 sacks over 4 seasons with the Gamecocks.
