This is only going to add more fuel to the offseason fire in the upcoming season opener between Florida and Miami.

Some unruly Hurricane fans recently painted a message for Florida fans on Gainesville’s 34th Street wall that wasn’t very original — “Gators Suck” was apparently the best they could come up with before breaking out the spray cans.

It will be interesting to see what that means for Miami because if Florida sucks and turns around and beats the Hurricanes in the opener, what does that say about Manny Diaz’s football program?

For what it’s worth, Florida has opened as an 8.5-point favorite looking ahead to the matchup in Orlando. The game was originally scheduled for Week 1 of the season but was pushed up to Week 0, on Saturday, Aug. 24. With the nation now set to be watching the first big game of the 2019 college football season, the Hurricanes better not fall flat after all their offseason chatter.
