Miami just added a big-time prospect to its 2025 recruiting class.

On Monday evening, the Hurricanes landed a commitment from 4-star wide receiver Malachi Toney. A Florida native, Toney chose Miami over offers from programs such as Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, Auburn and many more.

Toney is a massive pickup for the Hurricanes in the class of 2025. He’s currently rated as the No. 213 overall player and the No. 25 wide receiver in the country for this recruiting cycle. He’s also the No. 32 player from the Sunshine State.

Toney attends American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale. He recently re-classified into the 2025 recruiting class after initially being a 2026 prospect. He’s listed at 5-foot-10, 182 pounds.

Miami continues to make good progress in the class of 2025. Toney is the 23rd prospect to commit to Mario Cristobal and his staff so far this cycle. The group currently sits at No. 11 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. It’s possible Miami ends up with a top-10 high school recruiting class before all is said and done.

Here are some highlights from Toney’s high school career:
