Miami has landed an intriguing name from the transfer portal, and it’s a player who has flashed plenty of talent in the return game.

Keionte Scott, who spent 3 years at Auburn before briefly landing at at Houston, committed to the Hurricanes on Tuesday, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Scott will have 1 year of eligibility remaining.

Scott, originally from California, started his college career in the JUCO ranks at Snow College, then transferred to Auburn ahead of the 2022 season. He totaled 115 tackles and 9 passes defensed in his three seasons on The Plains, including 53 stops in 2022 and 5 PDs in 2023.

He made a name for himself on special teams, though, shining as a punt returner. In 2023, he brought back a punt for a touchdown while his 14.8 yards per return led the SEC.

Scott entered the transfer portal after the 2024 season and landed at Houston in January. However, on April 29, he re-entered the portal after going through spring ball with the Cougars.

Ultimately, he landed with Miami, making the jump to the ACC and joining a Canes team that had College Football Playoff ambitions in 2024 before losing 2 of their last 3 regular-season games.
