No. 13 Miami will reportedly be down a key player for Saturday’s showdown with No. 24 Texas A&M.
The Miami Herald reports, per sources, that leading Hurricanes wideout Xavier Restrepo is out indefinitely with a foot injury. ESPN’s David Hale is also reporting that Restrepo will not be available against the Aggies, but should return at some point later this season.
Can confirm Miami will be without Restrepo this week vs A&M but does not expect to miss the season. Restrepo leads the team with 11 catches and 12 targets. Big loss for the Canes. https://t.co/aiVwrKjffE

Restrepo has 11 catches for 172 yards and a touchdown through UM’s 2 games. No other Miami receiver has hit double-digit receptions or triple-digit receiving yards at this point in the season.
For Miami, freshman wide receiver Michael Redding III is next in production with 5 catches for 76 yards and a TD. Two players have 6 receptions: WR Brashard Smith (65 yards) and RB Henry Parrish Jr. (43 yards).
Miami is off to a 2-0 start in Mario Cristobal’s first season as head coach. The Hurricanes defeated Bethune-Cookman 70-13 in Week 1 and Southern Miss 30-7 in Week 2. Restrepo was the leading receiver in both games.
Saturday’s showdown at Kyle Field is set for 9 p.m. ET, airing on ESPN.
