The LSU Tigers got their first win since their game against South Carolina on Oct. 11 this weekend, and game balls were given to both quarterback Michael Van Buren Jr. and interim head coach Frank Wilson.
It’s finally a week where you can smile if you’re an LSU football fan. The Tigers beat the Razorbacks 23-22 over the weekend, and backup quarterback Michael Van Buren Jr. played a solid game with 221 passing yards and 1 touchdown. With this being his first win as a starting quarterback for LSU, it was only right that he got the game ball.
However, Van Buren Jr. wasn’t the only Tiger to get their first win. Interim head coach Frank Wilson was also given a game ball from the players, as it was his first win as the interim head coach of the Tigers.
Much of this season has been one to forget, and with quarterback Garrett Nussmeier sidelined with an abdominal injury, it couldn’t end any faster for Tigers fans. However, this moment is one that Tigers fans all around can smile about.
LSU will finish its season with a home game versus Western Kentucky this weekend and then a road game versus Oklahoma on the following weekend. Things have not been pretty for LSU this season, but they still have a chance to ruin one team’s season.
