After appearing in bowl games in The Bahamas and Hawaii the last two years, Middle Tennessee has a much more manageable trip to Montgomery, Alabama, this year.

The Blue Raiders will appear in the Camellia Bowl on Dec. 16 against Arkansas State — a very winnable game for the team.

And, thanks to coach Rick Stockstill, the Blue Raiders should have plenty of fans in attendance. Per a tweet from the MTSU Alumni Association, Stockstill bought $10,000 worth of tickets to give to students so they can make the shorter trip to this year’s bowl contest:

That’s a classy gesture from Stockstill, who is aware of how difficult bowl travel can be for some fans, especially when games are several hours away:

Hopefully, plenty of MTSU fans will take Stockstill up on his generosity, as it is the sort of gesture not many coaches make.

The Blue Raiders should have a great fan section in Montgomery later this month, thanks to their kind coach.
