Vanderbilt reaches into Alabama to land commitment from defensive back Miguel Mitchell

The first-year Vanderbilt coaching staff continues to impress on the recruiting trail as the Commodores just picked up commitment No. 11 of the current recruiting cycle.

The latest Vanderbilt pledge comes from Oxford, Ala., native Miguel Mitchell who announced his decision on Thursday. Mitchell recently visited Nashville during the final weekend of June.

The Alabama native picked the Commodores over scholarship offers from Memphis, Wake Forest, Liberty, Southern Miss, and Louisiana, among others.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 205-pounds, Mitchell is rated as a three-star prospect according to 247Sports.
