Mike Denbrock lights up about tight end room at LSU, says there are ‘blessings aplenty’

Mike Denbrock knows what he has in a talented tight end room at LSU, and it goes beyond Mason Taylor, who will show his complete development this season, the LSU offensive coordinator said.
Taylor may be remembered for turning Tiger Stadium upside down last season when he caught a 2-point conversion in overtime in the win over Alabama.
Taylor returns as one of the nation’s top tight ends after he was a Freshman All-SEC honoree in 2022. Taylor ranks second on LSU’s all-time single-season list for receptions (38) and No. 3 in receiving yards (414) by a tight end.
But to Denbrock’s delight, the Tigers also have Ka’Morreun Pimpton in the mix, who the offensive coordinator called an “unbelievable physical talent.”
“A raw piece of clay that any tight end coach in America would love to have to work with,” Denbrock said. “He’s got the ability and already gaining probably 15 pounds since he’s been here, getting to 245 as a true freshman, ability to help in both areas of what we ask our tight ends to do, provided he continues to develop and I believe he will. There’s some blessings aplenty in that room.”
Mike Denbrock broke down the tight end position briefly during today’s media session.
Said the “completeness” of Mason Taylor’s game is really going to show this year.
