Texas A&M coach Mike Elko singled out a few players as he reflected on Texas A&M’s summer workouts when speaking with reporters on Tuesday.

The Aggies are set to begin fall camp this week along with most of the rest of college football. But looking back on the summer that was, Elko identified 3 players who had excellent offseasons: Cashius Howell, Marcus Ratcliffe and TK Norman.

Howell is a junior defensive lineman who is entering his 2nd season with the Aggies after transferring in from Bowling Green. He’s expected to have a bigger role this season with Texas A&M needing to replace multiple key figures along its defensive line. He recorded 9 tackles for loss and 4 sacks last season.

Ratcliffe started 12 games for Texas A&M last season, which was his first in College Station after transferring in from San Diego State. Texas A&M hopes he can take another big step forward in what will be his third season of college football overall.

Norman is perhaps the most eyebrow-raising name on this list. A true freshman receiver, Norman signed with the Aggies as a 3-star prospect out of Montgomery, Alabama. It’s unclear if he’ll have a significant role as a true freshman or not, but he’s clearly already made an impression on the Texas A&M coaching staff.

Texas A&M will open the 2025 season with UTSA on Aug. 30.
